Focusing on the things you desire is a learn skill and require attention plus mental dexterity.   Focusing can be developed like our muscle, and the more you consistently train this skill, the easier it becomes to switch on.   As it became part of you, unconsciously, you begin to gain the ability to change your entire life.

Living in the present digital lifestyle, it is common for many people lack focus power as they attempt to use their will to overpower their daily distraction.  Maybe you have try deleting annoying apps notification and pledge to check your messages only at the end of the day.  These ideas may sound workable but we know they never end up working in the long-term.

Eventually, you are going to use your apps after ignoring the notification a few times.  Frequent checking of emails had become part of many people in this digital world.  However, being focused isn't about cultivating greater willpower or hoping that the world could revert back to a simpler time after the COVID-19 pandemic.  There is no back to the future.

Adapting is the Key

Social media had become the norm and it is part of our new social ecosystem.  We need to get over it as many individuals require these tools and it is not about eliminating them but it is about learning how to adapt as part of our lives.   Adapting is the key as how you spend your time on is a result of what you do habitually. 

Conclusion

Every time you check your smart phone, dozens of notifications and alerts flood the screen.  All of them seem urgent or important.  So we end up spending entire days, weeks and months approaching these conflicting demands without any specific prioritization and by end of the day, nothing gets done.
 
Get up when you are feeling down. The key is to be more aware of your daily or even hourly fluctuations in motivation and do the hardest things in your day when you're filling the best.  Be ruthless in your task prioritization so that you can cut through all the distractions and work only on the core items that will actually move your life forward. When you are ready to change your habits, you can increase your ability to focus and change your entire life.  Stay safe.
