Introduction
My grandparents worked six days a week, from the sun up till the sun went down, making use of the skills they have learned in their youth and repeatedly throughout their entire life. They knew that the keys to greatness and the secret of success was hard work, discipline and good habits. Children of the Wealthy It is interesting facts that wealth tends to skip a generation. When one family is wealthy, it often leads to a complacent mentality as one does not see the need for hard work. Children of the wealthy are not the one who developed the discipline and character to create the wealth in the first place, so we can't blame them if they do not have the same sense of value for wealth or understand what's necessary to keep it. Furthermore, their parents are usually over-protective and do not want to see their children going through that kind of struggling life. Frequently, we can see this kind of entitlement mentality in children of royalty, movie stars and wealthy business people. Lasting Success The expectations of what it really takes to create lasting success, things like grit, hard work and adversity, aren't appealing to many and thus have been mostly forgotten. The younger generations who grew up knowing only prosperity and shielded from adversity will soon lost respect for the strife and struggle of their forefathers who had instilled discipline, chiseled their character and stoked the spirit to brave new frontiers. Complacency Create Failures Study history and we can see complacency has impacted all great empires, including but not limited to the Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Spanish, Portuguese, French and English. Reason is because nothing failed like success. Once-dominant empires have failed for this very reason. People get to a certain level of success and get too comfortable. The Frog When countries experienced extended periods of prosperity, health and wealth, its citizens become complacent. People will start demanding less work and more money and forgot that it was those before us that had fought hard to earn the prosperity that we now enjoy. We become like the frog in the boiling water that doesn't jump to his freedom because the warming is so incremental and insidious that he doesn't noticed he's getting cooked! Grandparents Work Ethic It's time to restore our character and our grandparent’s work ethic for your own greater success and achievement. They seldom complain but take life on and overcoming it no matter what adversity they encounter. Be different and don't buy into the genie in a lamp idea. You can dream all you like and sit on the couch with your tablet, searching the net, pay and buy into ideas that you can attract checks in your mailbox with their secret formula. Depending on how many years you want to waste, one day, you need to wake up and realize that the real and lasting success require work and lots of it! Conclusion Don't ever try to fool yourself into believing that a mega-successful athlete didn't have to live through regular bone-crushing drills and invest thousands of hours into training. He got up early to practice and kept practicing long after everyone else had stopped. Therefore, the result of your life and the lifestyle of your dreams can be yours when you put in the effort and work for it. Learn to change and your life can be changed. |
