Moving Towards Thinking Positive

Adversities and challenges in life are part and parcels of our lives and instead of avoiding them one should confront them head on. Those who try to avoid such kind of situations of resistance in life are most likely to emerge as a loser in life. 

Norman Vincent Peale was one of the great advocates of positive thinking who ever lived. He had written several self-help books on this particular subject and he believed that positive thinking was the secret key to success. Positive thinking is not really a new concept.  However many people forget that the power of positive thought. 

Purveyors of positive thinking thoughts believe that our inner self mirror reality. Therefore, what we think inside ourself is what we get outside our self.  So, if our thoughts mirror our reality then we must think happy thoughts in order to be happy. This sounds all quite easy, however it is easier said than done therefore practicing these techniques on a daily basis could help.

Affirmation It

Write down your own affirmation such as, "I am the master of my fate, the captain of my ship, I can do anything that I set my mind to".

Your own daily affirmation could be anything that relates to your life, it has to be uplifting and positive. Every first thing in the morning, take a deep breath and close your eyes. Say this affirmation to yourself over and over again out loud or in your head. You can repeat it as many times as you like, or continue to say it to yourself throughout the day.

Put It In Paper

Writing positive phrases on post it notes and post them all over the house, on the mirrors on the doors everywhere you can think of. Using this method means that you will never forget to think positive.

Have a habit of writing a daily diary and any emotion or anger you have, write it down on one page and tear it out and throw it away. Any kind of positive thoughts you have, write them down and keep them.

Recording It

Make a recording of your own positive affirmations and listen to it while you sleep every night without fail.

Faking It 

Yes, everyone is going to have some bad day, if you wake up one morning and you just don't feel like being positive about life, then you got to fake it! Smile even though if you don't feel like smiling.
